Although it’s great to get outdoors in the summer to ride your bike, swim at the cottage and enjoy running while it’s warm, make exercise a life-long commitment. Many of us fall into the trap of only exercising when it’s ‘nice’ outside. For those living in the south this clearly isn’t as much an issue as your northern counterparts. In winter, attempt other sports like cross country skiing, curling, skating at the neighbourhood outdoor skating rink. Other sports that can be performed inside may also be a great transition from summer to winter such as squash, badminton, volleyball and indoor soccer. Make exercise a priority and do what you can year round.
